Any change in diet that decreases
the amount of calories consumed (a 150 lb. person needs about
2,045 calories a day) and increases the calories being burned off can
produce weight loss. Several currently popular diets approach weight
loss by changing the ratio between carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Some of these programs are so restrictive that
it is extremely difficult to stay on them for any length of time.
